Transparently made ceramics, from ground to table.
Hello, and welcome to Mel Ceramics.
I’m Meli and I create sustainable, wheel-thrown tableware inspired by my Mediterranean heritage and designed for everyday use. Using stoneware clay from St Agnes, Cornwall, each piece is thoughtfully crafted and fired in an energy-efficient eco-top kiln. I consciously source all of my ingredients ensuring that none of them have come from conflict zones, travelled unnecessarily far, or are critically endangered.
I am half Sardinian, and like to draw inspiration from my Mediterranean roots when designing my tableware, combining warm tones with contemporary forms and creating timeless ceramics made to be used and treasured. From morning coffee to shared bowls of pasta, I hope my pieces bring a sense of calm, connection, and warmth into your home.

Learn more about Mel Ceramics
Whilst striving to be a sustainable ceramicist is no easy task, I knew it was important to me from the moment I began working with clay in 2022 at classes with a potter friend. The disconnection between myself and the ceramic ingredients I was using troubled me - I wanted to know where they came from and to be able to share this openly with those interested in my work. That is where the concept for Mel Ceramics was born: a desire to create pieces with a full awareness of what has gone into their making, and to offer complete material transparency to anyone who values it.
La Tisana Mug

‘Tisana’ in Italian translates to ‘herbal tea’. This mug is made for slowing down and taking the time to appreciate a moment of calm with your favourite herbal infusion. It has a dimple in the handle for stability, and a wide mouth to help your herbal teas cool a little more quickly. Available in glazes Sale (salt in Italian) and Oliva (olive).
